Location. The Lake Resort is a beachfront hotel located in Vilamoura, Portugal, 500 metres from Vilamoura Marina and Falesia Beach. Vilamoura town centre is 3.5 kilometres from the hotel.

Hotel Features. Set in 30,000 square metres of grounds by a private lake, the Lake Resort is a neoclassical style residence with Moorish and Romanesque influences. The hotel offers an indoor pool and the grounds feature two outdoor pools, including a natural sand bottomed pool, the first of its kind in Europe. Motorists will find complimentary secure parking on site.

There are three restaurants at the Lake Resort. Gustatio is a modern restaurant serving Mediterranean dishes. Fusion serves Asian fare, including dishes from Vietnam and Thailand, in a Zen influenced setting. The floating restaurant, Marenostrum, can be found on the hotel lake and specialises in locally sourced seafood. The hotel also offers three bars, including a poolside bar and an Indian teahouse. A complimentary buffet breakfast is served each morning.

The Lake Beauty Centre and the Green and Blue spas offer saunas, steam rooms and an extensive range of spa treatments and holistic therapies, including Cleopatra baths, chocolate body masks and water massage. The Lake Resort's leisure facilities include tennis and volleyball courts and a football pitch. A playground, splash pool and kids' club are provided for children. A complimentary shuttle service runs to six golf courses in the vicinity. The local marina offers water sports including boating, kayaking, windsurfing and scuba diving.

Guestrooms. The 192 guestrooms and suites open onto balconies with garden, lake or sea views. Decor comprises neutral walls, chocolate fabrics and contemporary dark wood furnishings. Amenities include minibars, satellite television and high speed Internet ports. Bathrooms offer tubs, showers and robes.

From Faro Airport (FAO):
Distance to the Lake Resort is 24 kilometres, approximately 30 minutes' drive.

Getting there. Taxis wait outside the airport, and cost approximately 25 30 EUR to Vilamoura. Prices are all subject to change.

Getting around. A car is recommended for exploring the Algarve region. Privately run buses connect many of the major resorts.

Driving directions. Depart Faro Airport.
Follow signs for Portimaio/Loul�.
Continue along the motorway A22 for approximately four kilometres.
At junction IP1 follow the signs for Portimao/Lisboa.
Exit at Boliquelma/Vilamoura.
Follow signs for Vilamoura.
At Vilamoura, continue along the road marked Avenida Eng past Joao Meireles and Avenida Vilamoura XXI. Turn right at the sign for Praia da Falesia, before the statue roundabout.
