Location. The Canico Bay Club is a Mediterranean style property set by the sea, 200 metres from Galo Diving Centre and nine kilometres from the elegant tree lined streets of Funchal, with their shops, indoor market and nightlife. The nearest airport is Funchal, (FNC), 20 kilometres from the hotel, with an approximate driving time of 30 minutes.
Hotel Features. This island property offers an outdoor swimming pool and sun terraces where guests can spend a relaxing afternoon, a dry cleaning service, and free parking for those arriving by car. Multilingual staff are on hand to offer tour assistance, and guests have discounted use of facilities at a nearby fitness centre.
Galo Diving Centre and Galo Lido can be found 200 metres away, and Palheiro Golf is situated four kilometres from the hotel. Hikers can follow the footpaths that run alongside the 14,000 miles of Levadas a network of channels that carry rainwater down the mountains to the villages.
Guestrooms. The Canico Bay Club has 10 guestrooms. Spread over three floors, rooms vary in size and shape and are decorated in a Mediterranean style with light French oak furniture. All guestrooms open on to balconies with sea views and include fully equipped kitchens. Other amenities include satellite television, direct dial phones, safes, ironing boards and VCRs.
Expert Tip. The island's sub tropical climate offers up a variety of plant and marine life. The Nature Reserve of Parcial do Garajau is the only dedicated marine reserve in Portugal.
