Location. The Hotel Matejko is located in central Krakow, Poland, within 200 metres of the old town and the 500 year old Barbakan. Dworzec Glowny train and bus station is 400 metres from the hotel.
Hotel Features. Situated just outside the medieval city walls, this five storey corner townhouse has a white and powder blue fa�ade. The 24 hour front desk in the air conditioned lobby has multilingual staff, a safe deposit box, and concierge service to book daily sight seeing tours of Krakow and the surrounding area. There is also secure parking nearby (surcharge).
Hotel Matejko's onsite restaurant offers a spread of Polish and European dishes for lunch and dinner. Its neutrally decorated dining room is juxtaposed with colourful stained glass decorations. A complimentary buffet breakfast is served daily.
There are two multi functional conference rooms, and a translator and catering services are available.
Guestrooms. Decorated in a classic neutral style, the 48 guestrooms have quilted bedding and wooden furnishings. All are fitted with desks, satellite television, telephones and complimentary high speed Internet connections. Bathrooms have showers and complimentary toiletries. Bottled water is also provided.
Expert Tip. Taking up the space formerly occupied by the city walls, the Planty Gardens Ring forms a chain of 30 gardens in different styles. A circuit, that passes the Barbakan and main city gate, will take one to two hours.

From Krakow Balice International Airport (KRK):
Distance to Hotel Matejko is 15 kilometres, approximately 40 minutes' drive.
Getting there. A free shuttle bus is available to the airport train station, which is 200 metres away from the terminal. A train runs every 30 minutes between Krakow Dworzec Glowny station and the airport from 4 a.m. to midnight. Tickets can be paid for on the train, with a single journey costing about 4 PLN and taking about 15 minutes. There are two bus services operating between the airport and Krakow city centre, leaving every 15 25 minutes and costing 3 PLN. Each piece of large luggage must have a separate ticket. All fares should be validated before boarding. Taxis wait outside the terminal and cost around 77 PLN to downtown Krakow. Prices are all subject to change.
Getting around. Rickshaws, horse drawn carriages and electric carts transport visitors through Krakow's historic city centre. Much of the city centre has been pedestrianised, while buses and trams navigate everywhere else. A one day travel pass costs 10 PLN; an adult single ticket is 2.50 PLN. A relatively economical way to get around is via taxis, which are plentiful throughout the city. Prices are all subject to change.
