Location. The Villa Mater Hotel is located in Catania, Sicily, Italy, four kilometres from the baroque cathedral of Catania built by Vaccari. It is five kilometres from the Roman Odeon and 20 kilometres from Mount Etna. Catania Fontanarossa Airport is five kilometres from the hotel.
Hotel Features. A modern block surrounded by a green park, the Villa Mater is set in a quiet suburb of Catania. High above the city, it enjoys views of the coast and Mount Etna. The front desk is open 24 hours and there are Internet connections available (surcharge) in public areas. There is also complimentary garage parking.

Lidi Beach is five kilometres from the hotel.

From Catania Fontanarossa Airport (CTA):
Distance to Villa Mater Hotel is 10 kilometres, approximately 20 minutes' drive.
Getting there. A shuttle bus from airport to Villa Mater costs 20 EUR. The number 457 city bus departs from the airport every 20 minutes to central Catania. Buses also run directly to Syracuse and Taormina. Tickets are available from a booth in front of the terminal building, and must be validated when boarding. Taxis cost around 30 EUR. Prices are all subject to change.
Getting around. An inexpensive rail network links Sicily's larger towns, including Palermo, Messina, Catania, Taormina, and Syracuse. Buses run throughout the towns and many of the smaller villages. A car is recommended for exploring the less touristy areas.
Driving directions. From the airport take the E45 Tangenziale heading north for Messina.
Take the exit for the A18.
Take the exit for Catania/Canalicchio.
Turn left onto the SP9, Via Pietra Dell'Ova.
Turn left onto Via Vittorio Bottego for the hotel.
