The Sofitel Capsis Palace is a modern resort hotel located just 200 metres from its own private beach, next to the fishing village of Agia Pelagia on Crete's northern coast. The 450 air conditioned guestrooms, over three floors, have light decor with sliding glass doors leading on to balconies. They are equipped with satellite television, direct dial phones and minibars. The hotel is well placed for exploring the island and all its sights; the Minoan Palace of Knossos is 28 kilometres from the hotel, and the Old town and Fortress of Rethymnon can be found 50 kilometres away. Heraklion Airport is 25 kilometres from the hotel, an approximate driving time of 30 minutes.

Driving Directions

Both taxis and buses can be found right outside the airport. Typical taxi fare should be 25 EUR to the hotel; agree fare beforehand. The best way to get around Crete is by rental car or bike, although buses go to most places throughout the island. The Cretan bus company KTEL has stations in all the larger cities and stops all along the routes. Many locations are also accessible by ferry and boat taxi. Taxis in Crete are reasonable but visitors should make sure the driver uses the meter.
