The Dikti Mountains rise behind the rustic style Despo Hotel, which is 15 kilometers from Crete's capital Heraklion and just 600 meters from the beach. All the rooms have light wood furnishings, air conditioning (for an extra charge) and balconies or terraces. Room rate is full board and includes breakfast, lunch and dinner buffets, snacks and soft and alcoholic drinks.
Guests can relax in the jetted tub or by the pool in the well tended traditional Cretan gardens. FROM IRAKLION AIRPORT : TAKE THE NEW NATIONAL ROAD IN THE DIRECTION OF AGIOS NIKOLAOS. TAKE THE SECOND EXIT,KATO GOUVES, AND FOLLOW THE ROAD ROUND TO THE RIGHT. IGNORE THE FIRST TURN OFF TO THE LEFT AND DRIVE STRAIGHT ON TO THE NEXT JUNCTION,EKO PETROL STATION. JUST AFTER THE NEXT CROSSROADS TURN RIGHT,AT A KIOSK, ONTO THE SIDE ROAD RUNNING PARALLEL TO THE MAIN ROAD. STAY ON THIS ROAD FOR 400M AND YOU WILL SEE THE ENTRANCE TO DESPO HOTEL ON YOUR RIGHT HAND SIDE.
A TAXI FROM THE AIRPORT TO THE HOTEL WILL COST AROUND 19 EUR. THE PUBLIC BUS COSTS ABOUT 1.70 EUR PER PERSON.
