The Iro is a white fronted hotel located in a side street above the pretty town of Agia Galini. It has sea views and is situated within 500 meters of the fishing harbor, port and town center. The 16 guestrooms are decorated in a simple country style with white walls, wooden floors and rustic wood furnishings. All have balconies and refrigerators.
The hotel and reception are decorated in a rustic style and guests can breakfast outside on the long terrace. Although the hotel does not have its own restaurant, there are numerous bars, restaurants and cafes hidden in the narrow sloping streets down to the port. The area is rich in sightseeing opportunities; the Zaros Lake and Trout Farms, Stone Age Caves, Minoan Palace, Arcadi Monastery, Spilli Village and Fountains and Rethymnon Town and Fortress are all within reach of Agia Galini. The Valsamonero Monastery is 13 kilometers away and the Necropolis of Armeni is 31 kilometers away. Iraklion airport is approximately 120 minutes driving time and distance of 90 kilometers.
